Zardari ‘advises’ Musharraf to quit before June 10: report
ISLAMABAD, May 30: President's aide Tariq Aziz is said to have delivered an important message of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to Pervaz Musharraf. According to Aaj TV, Zardari has 'advised' Musharraf to quit his office before June 10. Meanwhile, rumours about president's resignation were circulating after Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani held a meeting with President Pervez Musharraf at the Army House here late Wednesday night. Their meeting was later confirmed by the ISPR. According to press release issued by DG ISPR Athar Abbas it was a routine meeting and issues, such as those relating to country's security situation at Pak-Afghan border, Pak support to US war on terrorism were discussed. Talking to Aaj TV, president’s spokesman Rashid Qureshi said that reports regarding president's resignation are baseless and that President Musharraf has not decided to quit the office. .
